F&I CERTIFICATION

F&I Certification That Reflects Real Skill

AFIP and NADA cover the law and the product knowledge. The conversation — the menu, the objection handling, the bump — is where penetration moves. Our certification is built on conversational skill, demonstrated under pressure.

THE PROBLEM

Why the Existing F&I Certification Stack Has Gaps

F&I has more formal credentials than most automotive roles. AFIP, NADA F&I, manufacturer-specific programs. Each does a piece. None of them grade the conversation.

AFIP / NADA test compliance knowledge

You can hold both and still bomb every menu presentation. They don't test the conversation.

OEM compliance modules are pass-fail multiple choice

You pass by knowing the answer to "what is required disclosure for adverse action?" — not by smoothly delivering it.

Manager hand-off training is informal

New F&I managers learn the bump by watching the senior manager. Quality varies wildly.

No re-certification on conversation skill

A 10-year F&I manager whose hold dropped 20% in the last 18 months has no mechanism for skill recertification.

QUESTIONS

Frequently Asked

Does DealSpeak F&I certification replace AFIP?

No. AFIP is the industry-standard credential for F&I; we don't pretend to replace it. We complement it — AFIP for the compliance / product knowledge, DealSpeak for the conversational skill assessment.

Should F&I managers hold both?

Yes, in our opinion. AFIP signals "this person knows the law and the products." DealSpeak signals "this person can actually deliver the menu and handle the objection." Both matter.

Is DealSpeak F&I certification recognized externally?

It's a verifiable internal credential — used for hiring, promotion, accountability decisions within your store or group. It is not (yet) recognized externally the way AFIP is.

How does this fit with JM&A or Assurant training programs?

Those programs are excellent for product knowledge and methodology. DealSpeak is the conversation practice layer underneath them.

What happens during annual re-certification?

Managers retake the comprehensive assessment. If they pass, certification renews. If not, they get targeted practice on the gap before re-attempt.

Does this work for sub-prime / special finance F&I?

Yes. Sub-prime is its own scenario track with its own rubric — different expectations on rate / term framing, different objection set.
